“Wisdom cries out for our Attention”

28 Nov “Wisdom cries out for our Attention”

“Wisdom cries out in the street; in the squares she raises her voice. At the busiest corner she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?” (Proverbs 1:20-22
Think about these verses. Children, spouses, family, friends try to get our attention. Most of the time, they are successful. Most of the time, we freely give our attention to them because we love them. Our jobs pay us. Our supervisors sign our checks. So, we are usually happy to give attention to our occupation. For several hours a day we focus on our daily duties and give employment our attention. But what do we give wisdom? How do we answer wisdom? The same way we give our attention to so many other things, God requires that we focus our attention on obtaining His wisdom. Our spirits are hungry for wisdom. Our spirits are thirsty for the wisdom of God’s Word. It’s calling out. It’s crying out to us everyday. Will you answer the call?
